Types of Forklifts
Forklifts are used in warehouse and construction environments to carry and move loads that are heavy. They are usually found in material handling and other manufacturing operations. There are different types of forklifts used for different sorts of applications.
The way forklifts are powered is the main difference between them. Some utilize internal combustion motors and several are electrical powered. For carrying loads which are heavy whilst maintaining minimum operating expenses, electric forklifts are normally the best choice. Electric forklifts are commonly found in indoor work environments. Internal combustion forklifts are recommended for outdoor applications.
Kinds of forklifts are manual drive, fork truck and motorized drive. Fork trucks are motorized and have cabs and backup alarms. Motorized drive forklifts typically have a protected seat for the driver. Manual drive forklifts are powered manually.
In order to prevent tipping, some forklifts are counterbalanced. Other safety features consist of turntables or handrails. Specialty forklifts are available for specific uses. For example, narrow aisle forklifts are designed to work within very tight spaces. Rough-terrain forklifts are very helpful on surfaces which are uneven and rocky.
