Kinds of Hydraulic Cranes
One of the most common cranes in the construction industry is hydraulic cranes. They are used to build everything from roadways and freeway overpasses to buildings and skyscrapers.
There is a large variety of crane units, sizes and styles available on the market. There are many different types in order to serve a variety of different purposes in the industry. Choosing the right kind of crane is vital for making certain that the material can be safely and efficiently moved to the place it has to get to in order for the construction process to commence.
Truck Cranes
Typically, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are really useful for building locations where a crane is needed in many different locations for the duration of the build. This is due to the fact that the crane could be driven easily from one place to another.
Cranes can also be transported to various construction sites on the road since they drive themselves, that eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own really reduces transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads which a hydraulic crane can handle. Hence, to be able to fix this problem, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers make use of hydraulic pressure to be able to lift the truck slightly off of the ground, making it stable and balanced.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature big tracks on the base of the crane. These massive tracks are like the ones seen on other construction machines such as bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks enable the crane to successfully move around a construction locations.
