A kind of machine in the material handling industry which can be utilized to raise and transport loads from one place to another is referred to as a forklift. Each and every component of a forklift has a specific function. Various parts can be used to transport the load either vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the parts that lift and lower the load. There are different kinds of masts utilized for lifting loads to different heights: quad, simplex, duplex and triplex.
Power Supply
There are four various ways you could power a forklift: electric, gas, propane and diesel. The battery is situated in the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on gas and diesel forklifts is beneath the rear of the truck.
Cab
Positioned in the middle of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the controls and informational gauges. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all located in the cab.
Frame
Carrying all the largest forklift parts is the frame of the truck. This consists of the counterweights situated at the back which prevents the truck from tipping over when loaded. The frame consists of the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the wheels, driveshaft and axles.
