Audible Devices - Motion or back-Up Alarms:
Back-up alarms and motion alarms are audio device accessories that produce enough sound so that the sound is heard overtop the noises generated from the forklift itself.
The sound needs to be readily distinguishable from other audible devices or sounds in the work setting. Sound should be readily discernible from other noise or audible devices within the work area. The audible device could employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; thus, care should be taken.
Hearing protection makes it really harder to hear the audible device and to distinguish what distance and direction it is coming from. Audible devices could sometimes get disabled from operators and employees as they could find them annoying. What's more, audible devices may also be objectionable to nearby residents.
