What is the Difference between Pneumatic Tire and Cushion Tire?

Among the most popular questions regarding this type of machinery is knowing the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts. Each and every tire type is particularly ideal for different needs.

Pneumatic Tires have air inside of them, like vehicle tires. These kinds of tires are suitable for indoor usage but they are more useful in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Utilized mostly for indoor applications, the cushion tires are made just like a solid industrial tire. The tire would only be useful outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an alternative to get traction tires on the front of the machine. These are called the drive tires. The steer tires or the back tires are particularly designed for steering. Traction tires situated on the forklift's back would just wear out faster. Thus, if you do need to work outdoors, having traction on the front and the smooth tires on the back will be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the difference between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?

It could be quite tricky when trying to know the main difference between the two tire types. They would operate well in both in gravel and asphalt situations. The main difference between the two tire types is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot gouge, puncture and pop them since they are durable. These tires are more costly compared to air pneumatic tires as they are made up of way more rubber. These kinds of tires are best suited for places such as lumber yards and scrap yards where there might be plenty of debris or sharp objects on the ground.

The pneumatic tire can be punctured accidentally. You could get flat tires from them when this occurs. Before using a forklift with air pneumatic tires, inspect your work area and be sure that the yard is free of nails, scrap debris and sharp metals. In most applications, standard air pneumatic tires function really great.
