Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk along the machinery as they pick up and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and therefore, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads using these equipment. A rider can be the right answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of moving cargo from one place to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
